Overview

This course in High Voltage (HV) Substation Access and Safety Awareness is intended to equip delegates with sufficient knowledge of procedures, hazards, safety documents and emergency procedures to allow safe entry into locations containing high voltage apparatus for specific (non-switching) tasks.

Objectives

The objectives of the course are such that, on completion, delegates will be able to:

Describe and discuss the content of a typical set of HV safety rules
Understand the various dangers which can be present in areas where HV equipment is located
Describe the methods used to make electrical equipment safe
Understand the need for, the expected content and the types of relevant Safety Documents
Explain the different types of Safety signage
